Kettlebell Training For Women – A Good Full Body Workout Routine

Is kettlebell training for women a good choice for losing weight? The answer to that question is YES!  I am sure most of you have seen a kettlebell, that funny looking round weight with a handle on top?  You might have steered clear of it thinking it was just for the guys or “crossfitters.” What you might not know is that funny looking little weight has been very successful for women in removing that stubborn body fat, belly and toning up. Many women get turned off from anything that resembles weight training because they don’t want to “bulk up.” And I get it, but with a good kettlebell workout that is something that you don’t need to worry about.  Kettlebell exercise for women is a great cardio workout and will help with your muscle tone without bulking up.

When you start out with a good kettlebell routine you will notice the movements work almost all of the muscles in your body, and make it a very effective full body workout. This is what most women want, meaning the more muscles that you use working out, equals more body fat burned.

Kettlebell Exercises – Most Effective Workout Routine

Because a kettlebell workout targets the whole body at once, it makes it a good choice for those who don’t have a huge amount of extra time to workout.  An workout can be done in as little as 15 minutes and go up to 45 minutes. There is a lot packed into this short amount of time, so you need to be willing to work hard, similar to a HIIT workout. There was an American Council on Exercise–sponsored study of 10 people, and those people performing the kettlebell snatch burned more than 400 calories in just 20 minutes. Not bad?

Kettlebell Workout Benefits For Women

Most women are looking to lose weight and tone up the glutes, waist, abs, hips and thighs. Well guess what, that is just what you will be targeting while working out with an effective kettlebell routine.  By targeting the larger muscles like the hips, glutes, and quads you will start to boost your metabolism. And who wouldn’t want that?  When you develop more muscle tone you increase your energy while resting, which equates to your body overall burning more fat. Just make sure you are using the right amount of weight. There are various kettlebell sizes for women, but don’t go too light, this will make your workout less effective in getting that full body burn you are trying to achieve. Try a heavier weight that you can do a good amount of reps with while maintaining proper form, a heavier weight will activate all your muscles resulting in a good calorie burn.
